How to dictate in Notion with Aqua

Start in a text block in your page. Aqua puts your words into the field you have focused.

Tips for dictating in Notion

Capture the thought first and structure it after. Notion is good at reorganising; the thing you cannot recover is the idea you lost while hunting for a heading.
Dictate straight into database properties. They are text fields, so the same key works.
Meeting notes are the highest-value case: speak the summary while it is fresh rather than typing it up an hour later.
Add your workspace's acronyms to the custom dictionary. Every team has ten of them and no speech model knows any of them.

Does Notion have built-in voice dictation?

Partly, as of April 2026. Notion shipped voice input on desktop, and it is scoped to Notion AI: you dictate a prompt to the Agent rather than dictating into your pages. That is genuinely useful if prompting is what you are doing. It is not dictation for the rest of Notion, which is where most of the typing actually happens: meeting notes, project briefs, database fields, comments on someone else's page. Aqua sits below the app rather than inside it, so the same key fills any of those, and every other app you have open.
