Frequently asked questions

Is this a game?

Sort of. You play it by working. It reacts to what you dictate, and every unlock comes from using Aqua Voice. There is no store.

Won't it distract me?

It sits where the Floating Bar sits and mostly waits for you. It naps when you go quiet and makes no sound of its own. Drag it anywhere, or right-click it and choose Hide Pet to put it away for a minute, an hour, or until you bring it back.

Is Aqua Pet free?

Yes. Aqua Pet is part of the Aqua Voice app on every plan, including Free. Pro adds the Aqua Halo and Max adds the Laser Visor, which your pet wears while your plan includes them. Leaderboards are for paid plans.

Where does it work?

In the Aqua Voice app on Mac and Windows. It throws your words at the cursor in most apps. The iPhone and Android apps have no pet, but signing in on them unlocks the Silver Phone and the Green Phone.

How do I turn it on?

Click Pet in the Aqua Voice sidebar and switch on Aqua Pet. It takes the place of the Floating Bar, and you can name it there too.

What unlocks new items?

Lifetime words, your best day and week, streaks, the number of apps you dictate into, Send It messages, and friends who join with your link. A few are secret. In the app, locked items stay blurred until you earn them.

What happens to my streak if I miss a day?

Your current streak starts over, but streak unlocks count your longest run. You keep every item you earned.

Does it read what I type?

No. It reacts only to what you dictate, and the Aqua Voice app matches the words on your computer. Most reactions play at most once every 30 seconds.

Does it make sounds?

The pet itself is silent. Your 5,000-word daily goal and the biggest unlock reveals play the app's notification sound, and only if you have sounds on.
