Say it. See it. Send it.

Realtime Mode shows your words in the Aqua toolbar as you speak, instead of waiting until you stop, and adds the “send it” voice command. Your text lands in the app when you finish. The desktop settings used to call it Streaming Mode.

It’s on by default whenever you go hands-free: double-press your Aqua key and start talking. In Settings, Activation also offers “Realtime always” to see words live while you hold the key, and “Instant always” to turn it off.

Max and Business include Realtime Mode and the “send it” command. Max is $19/month billed annually or $24 month-to-month. Free accounts can try it within their first 1,000 words. Pro and Team don’t include it, though subscriptions from before the change kept it.

Nothing is sent. The command only counts when it’s the last thing you say, so “Running late, be there soon, send it” sends, and “Tell them I’ll send it tomorrow” stays in the box as text.

In Settings, Send Command controls this. Auto is the default for new setups and chooses by app and field: Enter in Slack, ⌘+Enter on Mac or Ctrl+Enter on Windows for email bodies in Gmail and Outlook, and no send key for document text in Notes or Word. Unrecognized apps use Enter. You can instead choose Enter, Ctrl+Enter, ⌘+Enter on Mac, or Paste Only, which inserts your words without sending. Your choice applies across apps, and older installations can keep a previous selection.

English “send it” works whatever language you dictate in. It’s also recognized as 送信して in Japanese, envíalo in Spanish, envoie-le in French, schick es ab in German, and отправь in Russian. Auto-Detect and Yiddish use Instant mode, so the command isn’t available with those settings.
