How to dictate in Outlook with Aqua

Start in the body of a draft or reply. Aqua puts your words into the field you have focused.

Tips for dictating in Outlook

Work a batch of replies in one sitting. The speed gain compounds across an inbox in a way it does not on a single email.
Aqua adjusts the register from the thread, so an external stakeholder gets a more formal reply than your own team without you switching anything.
Dictate the subject line as well as the body.
Read back anything with a commitment in it: a date, a number, a promise. Speed is worth having, but not on those.

Does Outlook have built-in voice dictation?

Yes. Outlook has a Dictate button in the compose ribbon with a Microsoft 365 subscription, and for straightforward replies it does the job. The limits show up in volume. It is Outlook-only, so the Teams message and the browser form you fill in next are back to typing, and it does not know your colleagues, your products, or your acronyms, which is most of what a work email is made of. Aqua is one key across every app, reads the thread you are replying to so the register matches, and takes a custom dictionary for the vocabulary your inbox actually runs on.
