Test the words you actually dictate
Aqua Voice runs Avalon, its own speech model. Avalon scored 97.4% on AISpeak-10, our benchmark of AI and technical terms. That is evidence about Aqua on that benchmark, not a head-to-head result against Typeless.
We do not have a controlled Aqua-versus-Typeless app-level accuracy benchmark. Try both with your names, Japanese and English phrases, technical terms, and everyday apps before deciding which works better for you.
Read the Avalon write-up for benchmark context, then try Aqua Voice on your own vocabulary.
AISpeak-10 is Aqua’s English technical-speech dataset. Avalon transcribed the key term correctly in 97.4% of clips, versus 65.1% for Whisper Large v3. This measures key-term recognition, not overall transcript accuracy or a head-to-head test of these apps. See the evaluation and results.

Where Aqua Voice is better
Lower month-to-month cost
Unlimited Aqua Pro is $12 month-to-month versus $30 for Typeless Pro. You can choose monthly billing without committing to a year.
Lower annual cost
Aqua Pro is $10/month billed annually ($120/year), versus Typeless Pro at $12/month billed annually ($144/year). That saves $24/year.
A model built for technical vocabulary
Avalon is Aqua's own speech model, with published results on our AISpeak-10 technical-term benchmark. Use Starter's 1,000 lifetime words to check it with your work. Those results do not establish an accuracy advantage over Typeless.
Where Typeless has the edge
Recurring free use. Typeless replenishes its limited allowance each week. Its public page does not publish the current number. Aqua Starter has 1,000 lifetime words and does not replenish weekly.
Platform and language coverage. Typeless lists Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android, plus 100+ languages. Aqua Voice runs on Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android. Check each app's language support against the languages you need.
The September 22 notice and the current public plan
September 30 update: Typeless now describes Free as a limited weekly allowance on its public pricing page, without a numeric limit. The September 17 listing and September 22 notice below are historical evidence, not confirmation of the allowance currently applied to every account.
Typeless's in-app notice says: “Starting Sep 22, Free changes from 8,000 to 2,000 words/week.” The notice named September 22, 2026 as its effective date. It is historical evidence, not confirmation of the limit currently applied to your account.
At our September 17, 2026 research check, Typeless's public pricing page still listed 8,000 words per week. That dated listing and the notice should not be read as current public pricing.

Unlimited dictation at a lower paid price
Aqua Voice Pro is $12 month-to-month. Typeless Pro is $30 month-to-month. That is a $18/month difference for unlimited dictation, without an annual commitment.
With annual billing, Aqua Pro is $10/month ($120/year), while Typeless Pro is $12/month ($144/year). Aqua costs $24 less per year. These are US-dollar prices; the annual rates require annual billing.
Aqua Starter lets you test the app with 1,000 lifetime words. It is not a recurring weekly allowance. Typeless offers a recurring weekly allowance, but its current public pricing does not specify how many words.
Frequently asked questions
What is Typeless's current free allowance?
As of September 30, 2026, its public pricing page describes limited words each week without a number. A prior in-app notice announced a change from 8,000 to 2,000 words/week for September 22, but that notice does not establish the current limit for every account. Check the allowance shown in your account.
Is Aqua Voice cheaper than Typeless?
For unlimited Pro dictation, yes. Aqua Pro is $12 month-to-month or $10/month billed annually ($120/year). Typeless Pro is $30 month-to-month or $12/month billed annually ($144/year). Aqua costs $18 less per month on monthly billing or $24 less per year on annual billing.
Does Aqua have a better free plan than Typeless?
Aqua Starter has 1,000 lifetime words, not a weekly refill. Typeless offers recurring free use, but its current public page does not give a numeric limit. Aqua's demonstrated price advantage is on paid Pro plans.
Is Aqua Voice more accurate than Typeless?
We do not have a controlled head-to-head app-level benchmark to support that claim. Avalon scored 97.4% on AISpeak-10, Aqua's own benchmark of AI and technical terms, but that does not measure Typeless. Test both apps with your own vocabulary and workflow.
Can I use Aqua Voice on the same devices?
Aqua Voice is available on Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android. Typeless also lists Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android, so platform availability matches between the two.
How should I try Aqua before paying?
Use Aqua Starter's 1,000 lifetime words to try your everyday writing, names, and technical terms. It is a limited starting allowance, not an ongoing free substitute for Typeless's weekly plan. Pro adds unlimited dictation.
